Many users of the social network Instagram have to scroll through the news feed for a long time before they manage to find something interesting. This may soon change as the developers began testing a tool to help make the feed more streamlined. We are talking about the ability to add certain users to the “Favorites”, so that their posts will be displayed at the top of the feed.
According to mobile app developer Alessandro Paluzzi, who was one of the first to notice the new feature, Favorites helps rank Instagram accounts in order of importance to the user. For example, by adding friends’ accounts to Favorites, you can see their posts first.

Instagram will allow you to add users to Favorites to organize your feed
Note that in 2017, the developers have already tested the “Favorites” function on Instagram, which allowed restricting access to certain publications. For example, a user could publish a photo and make it available only to a limited number of people, and not to all subscribers. The new Favorites option looks like a more useful tool because it helps you organize your news feed.
Instagram currently ranks the order of feed messages based on the most recent posts posted by the people the user followed, as well as other metrics, including the likelihood of engaging with the post. At this stage, the “Favorites” function is in test mode. It is not known when it may become publicly available and whether it will even be launched to the public. Instagram officials have so far refrained from commenting on the matter.

Instagram Service Failed
Users of the social network Instagram recently complained about the failure of the service. According to Downdetector data, the problem mainly affected India, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and a number of other countries. The reasons for the incident are still unknown.
The users could not connect to the service. It is noteworthy that from the entire Facebook ecosystem, problems have arisen only on Instagram; the main social network and the WhatsApp messenger are operating normally.
This is the second Instagram crash in the last month. In early August, users also complained about the unstable work of the social network – they had problems loading the feed and connecting to the service. Then the problems affected the inhabitants of Europe, Latin America, the USA and Russia.
