Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have 45W charging

Samsung, apparently, does not seems to be interested in pushing fast-charging technologies to their limits. While Chinese firms have been betting on this for recent years, the Korean firm still does not provide a charger that can rival the Chinese gang. This year, companies like Xiaomi and Vivo are delivering smartphones with 120 W fast charging. Meanwhile, Samsung’s most high-end smartphone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is limited to 25W charging. Apparently, the company will address this with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but not how you expect.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 45W fast-charging

Back in 2020, the company introduced the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with 45W fast-wired charging. However, the company decided to downgrade this charging speed within the Galaxy S21 Ultra. As per new rumors, the upcoming Galaxy S22 Ultra will return to the company’s top offering which will still be 45W charging.

The new tip comes from the very reliable Ice Universe. According to the cat leakster, the new high-end device is 100 percent confirmed to feature 45W (10V / 4.5A) charging. Unfortunately, this does not mean that Samsung will be kind and will bundle the handset with the charging brick. Since the last year, Apple started a trend that is marked by the lack of a charging adapter. Samsung has mocked the company in the first months, but surprisingly, decided to follow it. The Galaxy S22 smartphones don’t have charging adapters in certain markets, requiring the user to purchase them separately. There is still hope as not all smartphone makers are following this trend.

The source itself didn’t confirm that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have the 45W adapter. However, there is a strong chance that you’ll have to buy it separately. For now, it’s also unclear if the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will also feature 45W charging or will have just 25W like their predecessor. The second possibility would be a disappointment, but again, Samsung isn’t much interested in enhancing the charging speeds of its smartphones.

The device will stand in the battery department

As for the battery capacity, the Galaxy S22 Ultra passed through 3C certification with a 5,000 mAh battery. In addition, the 3C listing also reveals the Galaxy S22 Plus with a 4,500 mAh battery. Both sizes are pretty satisfactory, especially on the S22 Ultra’s case, as the device is here to basically replace the Note series.
