Android 12

Back in May, Google officially announced the Android 12 system which comes with significant upgrades. After the launch, major smartphone manufacturers are now updating their Android skins. Some time ago, the Xiaomi Mi 11 got the MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 12 internal beta. However, that update was largely incomplete (more like a test version) and only a few users got the update. However, the Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra are now gettung the MIUI 12.5 21.9.17 internal beta system.

Of course, this update is rolling out in batches which means all users will not get it at the same time. The biggest change in this update is the upgrade to Android 12 kernel. The size of this update is 3.9GB and all internal beta testers can get the update.

The update changelog indicates that this update is an Android cross-version upgrade. In order to reduce risks, it is recommended to back up personal data in advance. This update takes a long time to start and load. Furthermore, it comes with performance and power consumption problems. Users may observe that the system heats up a short time after startup. Furthermore, some third-party applications does not support Android 12. This means that these apps will not work properly with the Android 12 system.
