Apple iPhone 13 mini could be the last mini iPhone as the tech giant has no plan to launch an iPhone 14 mini in 2022. A noted tipster believes that Apple will be getting rid of the mini variant of iPhones next year. This could be a result of the unsatisfactory response from last year’s iPhone 12 mini sales. Moreover, the Cupertino-based firm is reportedly gearing up to launch its new iPhone series without an iPhone 14 mini model. The mini models were introduced last year in the form of the iPhone 12 mini.
This year, Apple took the wraps off another mini variant dubbed, the iPhone 13 mini. Regrettably, these mini models did not succeed in gaining popularity among the huge iPhone fanbase. As a result, Apple may be planning to dump the entire mini lineup. To recall, the iPhone 12 mini was the least well-received model in the entire mini lineup. The iPhone 12 mini sales contributed a negligible 6 percent to the total iPhone sales from the 2020 model.
iPhone 13 Mini Could Be The Last Mini Model
Noted tipster Jon Prosser took to his Twitter account earlier this week to share an important piece of information regarding the iPhone mini-series smartphones. According to Prosser, Apple is planning to pull the plug on the mini variants next year. This information coincides with Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s report earlier this year. Kuo predicted that the 2022 iPhone series will not include a mini model. Kou attributed this decision to the disappointing sales of last year’s iPhone 12 mini, according to a report from IndiaToday.

In his tweet, Prosser claimed that the iPhone 13 mini will be consumers’ last chance to get their hands on a mini model. Furthermore, Prosser was asked whether he was confident about Apple’s plan since the mini model was launched in 2020. Prosser responded saying he was confident about the development. Although next year’s iPhone series may not come with a mini model, Kuo claims that the 2022 iPhone family will feature four new models.
iPhone 14 Series Coming Next Year
According to Kuo, two of the upcoming iPhone 14 series models will be high-end variants. The other two remaining models are likely to be low-end variants in the series. Furthermore, the phones could sport 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. Unlike the iPhone 12 mini, the iPhone 13 mini came with a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDA display. It packed a smaller battery as compared to the iPhone 13 model. However, other features are similar to the regular model. For instance, it houses the same dual-camera module at the back and packed the same A15 Bionic chip under the hood.
