Famous messaging app Discord has announced that its premium tier, Nitro users, will be able to choose a different avatar on each of their servers, and that all the scheduled events will -from now on – be open to all users.
The option to change the nickname now goes by edit server profile. This is where users will now be able to change their nickname and server avatar, which caters to users who use multiple servers, since they can now keep their identities different and set them apart.
What Has Discord Announced?
To add to this, Discord has also announced that it will start rolling out scheduled events, which will allow users to plan ahead of time, giving them the time to spread awareness for a specific thing.
The company mentions that it is supposedly seeing more communities make use of stage channels to connect with members, be it in discussions or AMAs (Ask me Anything).
Via this new ability, users will be able to create an event with a topic name for a future day, allowing certain members to RSVP so they can get notified when this event starts. Members will also be able to browse a list of future events on a specific server. This scheduled events feature is going to roll out to desktop, Android and iOS.

What Else is Going On in the World of Messaging Apps?
In other messaging apps related news, WhatsApp has released an update in Beta on iOS bringing with it a novelty that will be particularly appreciated by those who love to give a personal touch to their chats.
With version 2.21.190.11 the possibility of creating an icon for a group chat through a small internal editor that allows you to choose the background color, an emoji or a sticker is available.
The function is available for the moment only in beta on iOS, but it will soon reach the Android version of the app and, subsequently, will come to a stable channel for all users. This is obviously a “secondary” feature, but it could be useful for some users.
The tool for customizing the icons for group chats via the internal editor is not yet available for all members of the beta channel: to check their presence, simply access the group information and tap the camera icon to change the icon.
Here should be the “Emoji & Sticker” option. If present, you can let your imagination run wild, if not, you will need a little more patience. A matter of a few weeks, reports WABetaInfo.
