If in terms of the release of smartphones, Xiaomi is racing at all times, but in terms of promoting software products, everything is not so smart. Unexpectedly for itself, it postponed the release of MIUI 13 and had to do it. Without such a high degree of user dissatisfaction about bugs and issues inside MIUI 12, Xiaomi would hardly have postponed the release of MIUI 13 until the end of the year.
Naturally, fans of the company are interested in how long to wait for the announcement of a new version of the proprietary firmware. We can only say that the wait will last until November. This is indicated by the company’s post on the MIUI account on Weibo: “Let’s talk: How are you going to pass the time in anticipation of … November?”
The company does not directly ask about what the fans intend to do in anticipation of MIUI 13, but it is very likely that the company is hinting at the upcoming release of the firmware. There is little information about the new UI itself. Rumors and images showing the emergence of iOS-style widgets were circulating on the network. The well-known network informant Digital Chat Station says that the updated widgets are not the most significant update to MIUI 13.
There is an assumption that the first out-of-the-box smartphone with MIUI 13 will be Xiaomi 12, the release of which is also predicted in November-December 2021. Whether the announcement of the flagship and the new proprietary shell will coincide in time; we will find out soon enough.

Head of Xiaomi: the company intends to become the leader in the global smartphone market
Xiaomi co-founder and CEO Lei Jun has shared plans for the development of the smartphone business. The Chinese company intends to further strengthen its position in the global market.
According to Counterpoint Technology Market Research estimates; 323.1 million smartphone devices were sold globally in the second quarter of this year; which is 17% more than in the same period of 2020. The leader is the South Korean giant Samsung, which controls about 18% of the industry. Xiaomi was able to move up to the second place, ahead of Apple: their shares were 16% and 15%, respectively.
Note that in the period from April to June inclusive, Xiaomi sold more than 52 million smartphones. For the first time, according to the results of the quarter; this company took the second place in the ranking of the leading players in the world market.
As Mr. Jun has now stated, Xiaomi intends to become the leader in the smartphone market. Moreover, the company is going not only to take the first place; but also to keep it for a long time.
Analysts say Xiaomi’s results will largely depend on its success in markets outside of its native China. In addition, experts point out the need to simplify the labeling scheme for the company’s devices.
