Motorola is gearing up to introduce a new budget smartphone for its Moto E-series. The company recently released the Moto E20 with super-budget specifications, now is preparing the terrain for a new arrival in the form of Moto E40. The device’s existence has been confirmed in the last month. Now, a couple of renders for reputed leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks) bring fresh details about the handset’s design.
Today, the tipster has shared a set of renders with the upcoming phone’s design. Interestingly, these renders also showcase some of the device’s key aspects such as the display’s refresh rate, design, and fingerprint scanner’s placement. The leak also reveals that the phone will come with an Octa-Core processor, and will pack a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. Apparently, this will be one of the best smartphones in the 2021 Moto E-series. As far as the rumor mill goes, the handset will come with a Unisoc Tiger T700 SoC chipset. Once again, another mainstream company is betting on Unisoc for the budget segment.
Gizchina News of the week
The leaked renders confirm a triple-camera set up in a large rectangular module. The fingerprint scanner is also placed in the back and has a Motorola logo carved inside. According to rumors, the Moto E40 will come with a 48 MP primary camera. Unfortunately, there aren’t details on the remaining sensors, but we can expect them to be depth modules and a macro lens. This is pretty much the standard combo for low-end smartphones. The right edge of the handset has two buttons above and below the volume rocker. One is the power key, and we assume that one of them is a dedicated Google Assistant button.
Moto E40 alleged specifications
According to the rumors, the Moto E40 will run Android 11 Go Edition straight out of the box. It will carry an Octa-Core Unisoc Tiget T700 SoC with up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of Internal Storage. We assume that it also carries a micro SD card slot for further memory expansion.
The device will flaunt a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD with a 90 Hz refresh rate and an 8 MP selfie snapper. Sources indicate that the device will have an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance. Moreover, it will carry dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. There should be a 3.5 mm headphone jack as well. We expect the handset to come with a 4,000 mAh battery, but we don’t have big aspirations for fast charging.
