A couple of months ago, Realme unveiled its Realme GT Master series in India but left the Master Explorer Edition out of the party. The company did give an exact reason for skipping the device at that time, but we discovered when the Realme GT Neo 2 was launched. The GT Neo 2 has basically the same specs and also improvements in other areas. Today, the company has confirmed that the Realme GT Neo 2 will come to the Indian market on October 13.

It’s a surprise to see the Realme GT Neo 2 coming to the market with its original name. After all, the original Realme GT Neo reached India as a Realme X7 Max 5G. Apparently, Realme isn’t concerned with this and is bringing the device with its original name. The launch event will happen on October 13 local time and will be live-streamed on Realme’s official YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Gizchina News of the week

Realme is building the hype for the upcoming device with labels like “Neo flagship killer” and “premium mid-range smartphone”. To recall, the Realme GT Neo is truly a capable smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. It also packs a gorgeous 6.62-inch 120 Hz E4 AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The device also has a 5,000 mAh battery which is the biggest battery in the entire Realme GT series. To crown this device as a beast for battery life it also gets the company’s signature 65W fast-charging. The device has a Full HD+ resolution and a top-left punch-hole for the 16 MP selfie camera. Other specs include up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. Of course, we don’t know if all variants will be available in China. Other specs include NFC and Stereo Speakers.

In China, the Realme GT Neo2 runs Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 straight out of the box. However, rumors suggest that the global model will run Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0. It will be the first Realme smartphone to run Realme UI 3.0 and also the first Android smartphone to launch with Android 12. Of course, we don’t know if Realme is considering the variant going official in India as the “global” one. Maybe, the Android 12 firmware will only come with a variant that is coming for other markets. We’ll find the truth soon enough. If it is coming with Android 12, we’re certain that Realme will tease this in the upcoming days.
