Galaxy S22 Ultra

A Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra dummy unit has surfaced on the web in the form of some hands-on shots and a short hands-on video. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time now. Moreover, the purported handset has been subject to several leaks lately. Last month, we got an early look at the South Korean tech company’s next flagship, the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The same source later leaked renders of two other variants in the Galaxy S22 series including the Galaxy S22 and the S22 Plus.

Some reports claim that the Galaxy S22 Plus will carry the Galaxy S22 Pro moniker. As if that weren’t enough, hands-on shots have started to surface online. In collaboration with xleaks7, CoverPigtou has shown what they claim is a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra dummy unit in a hands-on video. Aside from that, they have shared live images of the aforesaid dummy unit. Interestingly, the dummy unit seems to bear a striking resemblance to the Galaxy Note20 Ultra. This coincides with rumors indicating that it will be Note 22 Ultra instead, as GSM Arena reported.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Dummy Unit

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has been confirmed, and it will not debut with the Note22 Ultra moniker. However, the dummy unit’s resemblance to Galaxy Note20 Ultra suggests otherwise. Previously leaked information claims that the phone will sport a mammoth 6.8-inch dual-curved display. Furthermore, the device is tipped to come with a P-shaped rear-mounted camera module. This camera setup is likely to house four cameras.

Aside from that, the new leaks reiterate that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature an S Pen slot although the dummy unit doesn’t have a cutout for a stylus. The right edge appears to house the volume and power buttons. To recall, the Galaxy S22 Ultra isn’t likely to see the light of the day any time soon. Some reports claim that the device will launch in 2022. More shreds of information will continue surfacing online ahead of the device’s official unveiling.

What Else To Expect?

Previously surfaced renders show that the Galaxy S22 Ultra has four sharp corners like the Galaxy Note 20. Moreover, the phone is tipped to sport a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED LTPO display that delivers a 120Hz refresh rate along with a QHD+ screen resolution. Based on the region, the phone is likely to pack a Snapdragon 898 SoC or Exynos 2200 SoC under the hood. It will reportedly come with a highly competent AMD RDNA2 GPU. Aside from that, it will likely ship with 12GB of RAM and a hearty 512GB of onboard storage capacity.

On the photography front, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to feature a 12MP ultrawide camera, two 10MP telephoto lenses, and a 108MP primary camera at the back. A robust 5,000mAh battery will be powering up the entire system. If previously surfaced reports are anything to go by, the battery will be manufactured by Samsung ADI and Amperex Technology Limited. More details about the Galaxy S22 Ultra will surface online ahead of its official unveiling in 2022.
