OnePlus Buds Z2 launched with ANC and 38-hour battery life

OnePlus Buds Z2

OnePlus held a big event today in China to reveal its latest OnePlus 9RT smartphone. The device comes as a solid upgrade over the OnePlus 9R and even surpasses the vanilla OnePlus 9 in some aspects. In addition to the new device, the company also introduced new true wireless earbuds in the form of the OnePlus Buds Z2. The new hearables come with Active Noise Cancellation and are now on par with premium offerings in the market. In addition, the earbuds come with Dolby Atmos support and offer up to 38 hours of battery life with the case.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 pack 11 mm dynamic drivers and pair over Bluetooth 5.2. They offer support for the AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs and the BLE, SPP, HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP Bluetooth transmission protocols.

According to the company, its Active Noise Cancellation system on the OnePlus Buds Z2 will block out up to 40dB of outside noises with the aid of three microphones on each earbud. It should ensure an immersive audio experience even when you’re in noisy environments. The ANC feature will put the OnePLus Buds Z2 in the same category of select True Wireless Earphones like the Apple AirPods Pro series and the recent Galaxy Buds.

The hearables come with IP55 certification which ensures a splash-proof body. The case is IPX4 which means it is splash resistant. Each bud packs up to 7 hours of autonomous use. However, this involves the scenario where ANC is turned off. If you continuously use the noise cancellation then the battery life will go down to up to 5 hours. Thankfully, the case comes with War Charge support. As a result, you can get 5 hours of listening from a 10-minute charge.

The new hearables come in Black and White colorways. They will be sold for CNY 499 which is roughly $77. The first sales will start on October 19. International availability, on the other hand, is yet to be disclosed.
