iQOO recently launched the iQOO Z5 in India, but it seems that the company’s India plans are not yet over. The company is set to launch the Z5x in China on October 20, with an India launch also expected soon.
As of now, details in relation to the iQOO Z5x are bleak at best, but the company has taken to Weibo to reveal certain specifications and features of the device.
In a new Weibo post, the company has announced that the upcoming iQOO Z5x is going to make use of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, which is a 6nm chipset with support for 5G.
What Do We Know About the iQOO Z5x?
This chipset features two Cortex-A78 power cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. This is coupled with the Mali-G68 GPU.
To add to the information at hand, iQOO has also revealed that the upcoming iQOO Z5x will come in an orange hue, with the teaser providing a look at the rear panel, with a triple-camera stack to the rear, which, if reports are to be believed is set to feature a 50MP primary shooter.
Other details visible include a volume rocker and a fingerprint reader to the side, suggesting that the device will likely sport an LCD panel instead of an AMOLED one.
Gizchina News of the week
The LCD screen is one found on other iQOO Z series handsets, so it is no shock to us. Support for high-refresh rate is also expected, much like the iQOO Z5.
Furthermore, the Z5x will most likely pack in a 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging. Other details will likely show up around the launch date, which as we mentioned earlier is set for October 20.
What Else Do We Know About the Device?
In other news, reports suggest that the iQOO Z5x will come with a 6.58-inch TFT display if the TENAA listing is anything to go by. Furthermore, it will pack a Dimensity 900 5G SoC under the hood.
The Z5x is likely to ship with up to 6GB of RAM and offer 128GB of onboard storage capacity. Aside from that, iQOO could launch a higher-end model that offers 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. In the software department, the phone is likely to run Origin OS-based Android 11 out of the box.
On the photography front, iQOO Z5x will reportedly house a dual-camera setup at the back. The rear-mounted camera module could include a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.
Upfront, the phone could feature an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calling. The phone’s dimensions are 163.95×75.30×8.5 mm and weigh in just 169 grams, according to the TENAA listing. You can pre-order the iQOO Z5x via the company’s official website.
