Samsung has to look for ways to compete with Chinese companies by offering near-optimal performance without raising prices. So it is forced to look for ways to reduce the cost of production. One of them is to abandon the use of their components in favor of Chinese ones. It was reported that one of the Galaxy A series models will receive an OLED panel from a Chinese company.
In particular, we are talking about the Galaxy A73, which may be the first smartphone of the Galaxy A series to have a display manufactured by a non-Samsung Display. Potential display suppliers are named CSOT or BOE. According to rumors, both have already begun to create an OLED panel for the future smartphone and will arrange a competition between them. Whoever offers the best solution will receive a contract from Samsung. By the way, CSOT screens have already found their place in a number of Galaxy M series models.
In favor of which of the companies the South Korean giant will decide, we will find out later. The options may be different, but one thing is for sure – the transition to the use of displays from Chinese manufacturers will reduce the cost of the device. The only surprise is the fact that Samsung plans to experiment with one of the top models of the Galaxy A family and the price of an error can be high.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Part 2
Later today, Samsung will hold the Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 event. Usually, as part of the Unpacked events, the manufacturer announces new smartphones or other devices, and due to rumors and leaks, it is known in advance what exactly will be presented. But in the case of today’s event, this is not the case, a surprise awaits us.
Samsung has recently published a short video (below), in which many saw a hint of what will be presented at the upcoming event. In the video, three aliens in baseball caps with the Samsung Galaxy logo select the colors of their sweatshirts; using a huge computer.
This and the very announcement of the event gave rise to the theory that the foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 will be presented tonight in new colors. Or there will be new color options for the Galaxy S21. In any case, one cannot count on the presentation of really new products. Note also that someone might have expected the Galaxy S21 FE to be announced; but according to recent rumors, the semiconductor shortage is preventing Samsung from releasing it now.
Be that as it may, in a few hours we will find out whether expectations are met; or Samsung still has something to surprise. You can watch the event at 2:00 pm GMT hours on the official YouTube channel of the company.
