Apple’s November Event Unlikely, iMac, New iPad Pro, MacBook Air Refresh Coming in 2022 As Per Report

Apple recently took to the stage to unveil its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models running the new Apple Silicon chips, in an event that was dubbed “Unleashed”.

This was the second of many events by Apple this year, with rumours suggesting another event due in November. Today, a new report suggests that this is false, with Apple supposedly done for the year.

For those unaware, in 2020, Apple held three events, one in September to focus on the Apple Watch SE and Series 7 and the iPad Air 4, with another event in October for the iPhone 12 series. A final event saw the company transition its laptops from Intel to Apple Silicon, with the M1 SoC.

Is Apple Going to Host Another Event for A MacBook or Mac Mini?

Mac Mini M1

Now, in the latest edition of Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, he mentions that he wouldn’t expect a third event from Apple this year, with no major announcements lined up.

He adds that Apple will likely save the rumoured Mac Mini refresh for 2022, alongside the new iPhone SE, iPad Pro and Apple Silicon based iMac.

The statement from the newsletter is as follows, “I wouldn’t expect a third event this year or any other major announcements. Apple held three events last year because Covid-19 caused delays and disrupted its schedule.”

Gizchina News of the week

“If Apple had any more Macs to launch this year, it would have announced them this past week—even if they wouldn’t be shipping until later this year. There’s really nothing else left of substance in the road map that would be ready for 2021. Instead, look for a larger Apple Silicon iMac, new Mac mini, new iPhone SE and new iPad Pro after 2022 gets underway”

What Else is the Company Working On?

MacBook Air 2020

In other news, Apple analyst and iOS developer Dylan took to Twitter to share more details about the upcoming laptop. Dylan has a good record in terms of Apple product-related leaks. So, the 2022 MacBook Air specifications and features he has revealed could prove to be true.

In his tweet, Dylan suggests that Apple is gearing up to unveil its new MacBook Air in mid-2022. In other words, Apple could announce its new laptop during the WWDC 2022.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that Apple usually hosts its developer event in June. There is a possibility that the company could launch the 2022 MacBook Air at the impending event. However, Apple could be unveiling only the entry-level MacBook at next year’s WWDC.
