Honor Play5 Vitality Edition smartphone has gone official in China, with an array of awe-inspiring and sufficiently good specifications. Back in May, Honor took the wraps off the Honor Play5 series featuring the Play 5T Vitality Edition, Play 5T, and the Play 5 models. The Chinese smartphone brand introduced a new entrant in the lineup on October 25, dubbed the Honor Play5 Vitality Edition.
Despite carrying an affordable price tag, this mid-ranger smartphone sports a high refresh rate display and has virtual RAM. The Honor Play5 Vitality Edition (aka Honor Play5 Youth Edition / Honor Play5 Lite) has been subject to multiple leaks in the past. Ahead of its launch, Honor released posters of the newest member of the Honor Play5 series. The aforesaid posters gave us a clearer view of the phone’s design before its official unveiling. Aside from adopting a highly appealing design, the phone boasts some pretty decent features.
Honor Play5 Vitality Edition Launched In China
The recently unveiled Play5 Vitality Edition from Honor features a mammoth 6.67-inch LCD display that offers a Full HD+ (2376 × 1080 pixels) resolution. Aside from that, the display offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 94.4 percent. It supports DCI-P3 color gamut coverage for superior color accuracy, PlayfulDroid reported. Furthermore, the phone packs a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset under the hood.

In terms of memory configuration, the Honor Play5 Vitality Edition will ship with 8GB of RAM. Aside from that, it will offer an additional 2GB virtual RAM support. Moreover, the handset will be available in two storage options. These include a 128GB onboard storage model and a 256GB onboard storage variant. In the optics department, the phone houses three rear-mounted cameras. The rear panel features a 64MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera that comes with /2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor that offers an aperture of f/2.4.
Upfront, the phone has a 16MP shooter for selfies and video calling. For additional security, the phone has a fingerprint sensor on the side edge. As far as connectivity is concerned, the Honor Play5 Vitality Edition offers a USB Type-C port, GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz). In addition to that, the phone supports Dual 4G VoLTE, and 5G SA/NSA. The phone runs Android 11 out-of-the-box with Magic UI 4.2 custom UI on top.

Furthermore, the Play5 Vitality Edition draws its juices from a robust 4,300mAh battery that supports 66W SuperCharge fast charging technology. You can choose between two eye-catching color options. These include Aurora Blue and Midnight Black. Likewise, the 8GB RAM+128GB storage variant will set you back 1,799 yuan, which converts roughly to about $281. The 8GB RAM+256GB storage model retails for 1,999 yuan (about $313). The phone will be available for purchase starting from November 1 in China.
