Xiaomi certainly makes its name with the wave of good smartphones. However, the company has a solid ecosystem of devices and the wearables probably are as much popular as their smartphones nowadays. The brand has premium wearables under its Mi branding and also cost-effective products under the Redmi branding. The company is gearing up for a big Redmi launch in China later this week. On October 28, the company will introduce the Redmi Note 11 series alongside the Redmi Watch 2. However, they aren’t the only products coming from this event. There will be a new Redmi Smart band Pro joining the party with a rectangular body and rubber strap.
Redmi Smart Band Pro key features revealed
According to a report from WinFuture, the new bracelet will come as a direct rival for the Huawei Watch Fit. It will also compete with the Samsung Galaxy Fit that also arrives for the same niche of users. Despite the different names, the device may come as a follow-up for the Redmi Smart Band that arrive last year. The new wearable may offer features that aren’t available in the big majority of mid-range wearables like GPS positioning.
Gizchina News of the week
Most of the smartwatches and smart bands in the market that come with an affordable price lack GPS. With this feature, users can take the wearable to outdoor activities or trips without having to carry the smartphone all the time. The GPS will be enough for positioning and tracking. Rumors say that the wearable will bring GPS and we’re excited to see if it will hit an attractive price tag even with this feature. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, various sports modes, and heart rate tracking
Despite the lack of evidence, we may also expect the new Redmi Smart Band Pro to come with a SpO2 sensor. This sensor allows the user to track and monitor the amount of oxygen in the blood. This feature has become quite important and expressive in these days of COVID-19. We expect the wearable to bring some sort of water resistance and come with a battery that lasts for a couple of days of usage.
The Redmi Smart Band Pro will hit the Chinese market on Thursday. Given the rising popularity and demand of wearables across the globe, we may see this getting a release in other markets across the world. With Realme pushing products for the wearable segment, we’re pretty sure that Redmi will pursue one of its major rivals in the current times.
