Redmi held a major event in China this week, where it disclosed a set of new products and, more importantly, the Redmi Note 11 series. The week hasn’t ended and the brand is introducing today the Redmi Smart Band Pro. The new fitness tracker was previously rumored and now it’s officially hitting the shelves in the Chinese market. The wearable, as the new suggests, is an improvement over the original Smart Band. It comes with extra hardware and some new features.
Redmi Smart Band Pro specifications
The Redmi Smart Band Pro flaunts a 1.47-inch AMOLED screen with 450 nits of maximum brightness and 282 pixels per inch. The wearable has a 2.5D tempered glass coating. The body of the device is made of polycaprolactam (type of nylon, plastic), reinforced with glass fiber and it can go under 50 meters underwater. The strap, of course, is made of soft silicone.
The smart Band Pro comes with an accelerometer, gyroscope, and PPG heart rate monitor. A light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment of the display is also at hand. The device uses the usual accelerometer, gyroscope, and PPG heart rate monitor.
Gizchina News of the week
There is also a light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment of the display. With the sensor, the device can detect more than 110 types of workouts and 15 of those are professional modes, as per Redmi. There is also SpO2 (blood oxygen) tracking. For those unaware, it can track the level of oxygen in your blood. This feature became quite popular last year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. After all, this is one of the easiest ways to check if your body condition is degrading if you’ve been infected.
All that hardware is powered by a 200 mAh battery that charges over a small magnetic cable. The Redmi Smart Band Pro will last for about 14 days under normal usage or 20 days in power-saving mode. Of course, this is the estimated time. We need to collect users’ feedback to get an average time.
Redmi Watch 2 Lite also revealed
Besides the new smart ban, the company also introduce a new Redmi Watch 2 Lite. It’s a toned-down version of the original smartwatch. It adopts a more square-ish design compared to the Band. The display is a 1.55-inch LCD with 320 x 360 pixels resolution. Interestingly, it also comes with the same set of sensors and GPS. The wearable also has a 5 ATM rating.
The lite comes with a bigger 266 mAh battery that lasts you 10 days under normal usage or 5 if you are a heavy user. In GPS mode, the wearable can be for four 14 hours without any hassle.
