Roadmap for Samsung flagship announcements in the first half of 2022

This year is inexorably approaching its end, and almost all significant premieres of this year have already taken place. Gradually, thanks to insiders, we begin to look into the future and more and more reasons appear to talk about the new products of 2022. Among them are the flagships of Samsung.

Earlier, blogger John Prosser announced plans for Samsung to release the Galaxy S21 FE, and its announcement will take place on January 11, 2022. It could be assumed that in order not to interfere with the sales of this model, the company will postpone the release of the Galaxy S22 series until a later date. But, according to the latest information, Samsung will not delay the announcement and start of pre-orders for the new flagship family.

According to the same insider, Samsung will begin accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 line from February 7th. Another, much more famous and accurate in its forecasts, network insider Ice Universe, said that he was not ready to name the exact date of the Galaxy S22 series announcement, but, according to him, the release could take place in the last week of January.

If this happens, then Samsung is setting aside a short lifespan for the Galaxy S21 FE; as the company’s current flagship. It seems that the manufacturer does not really believe in the success of this model and will release a limited number of copies. The demand for this smartphone may be low, because the prospect of the release of new flagships will already clearly loom on the horizon, and the Galaxy S21 series should seriously drop in price.

Samsung leads the smartphone market in Q3 2021

The International Data Corporation (IDC) has released statistics on the global smartphone market in the third quarter of this year. Shipments of smartphone devices have declined.

Between July and September inclusive, 331.2 million smartphones were sold globally. For comparison: a year earlier shipments were equal to 354.9 million units.

Thus, the fall in annual terms was about 6.7%. This situation is primarily due to the shortage of electronic components. Difficulties with the production of components hit a wide variety of industries. Including computers and household appliances, the automotive industry, server equipment, etc.

The largest player in the smartphone market in the third quarter was the South Korean giant Samsung with a 20.8% share. In second place is Apple, with approximately 15.2% of the global market. The Chinese Xiaomi closes the top three with a share of 13.4%.

Then there are Vivo and Oppo with approximately the same results – 10.1% and 10.0%, respectively. All other smartphone vendors collectively hold 30.5% of the global market.
