The South Korean tech company will be unveiling the much-awaited Galaxy Tab A7 successor soon. Ahead of the launch, design renders of the upcoming tablet surfaced online. Aside from that, a few specifications and a potential launch timeline of the tablet were tipped before official unveiling earlier this year.

The word on the street is that Samsung will launch two models of the Galaxy Tab A8, including an LTE and a Wi-Fi variant. While nothing is set in stone yet, the upcoming tablet’s specifications have popped up on the internet via its Geekbench listing. The listing reveals what the tablet could offer in terms of performance.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 has arrived on Geekbench after clearing its Bluetooth certification. It seems safe to assume that the midrange tablet has already gone through the development phase and is now on the verge of hitting the store shelves. The Wi-Fi variant carries model number SM-X200 and the LTE variant has model number SM-X205 on the Geekbench listing. Under the hood, the impending tablet will be using an Unisoc T618 octa-core chipset with a 2.0GHz base clock.

Furthermore, the processor could be paired with 3GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 scored 1704 points in the single-core and 5256 points in the multi-core tests on Geekbench. The tablet carrying model number SM-X205 on the Geekbench listing is likely to get up to 4GB RAM. Moreover, the tablet will reportedly ship with three storage configurations. These include 128GB, 64GB, and 32GB built-in storage capacities.

The Galaxy Tab A8 tablet has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time now. If rumors making the rounds online prove to be true, the tablet will come with a 10.5-inch TFT WUXGA display that offers 1920×1200 pixels resolution. Aside from that, the tablet could have an 8MP primary camera at the back, and a 5MP front shooter for selfies and video calls. Moreover, a large 7,040mAh battery with fast charging support will be powering up the entire system. Moreover, the tablet will be available in Gray, Silver, and Gold color options.
In addition to that, Samsung could equip the tablet with a quad-speaker setup that supports Dolby Atmos. Earlier leaks have indicated that the tablet will only get a Wi-Fi variant. However, Samsung is highly likely to introduce an LTE variant as well. The upcoming tablet adopts a clean slab-like design. With the camera bump, the tablet will be 8.7mm thick. For connectivity, the Galaxy Tab A8 could offer a Type C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The right edge will house a fingerprint sensor.
