Reliance JioPhone Next smartphone has gone on sale in India, but consumers cannot just walk in at retail stores to buy it. The Indian telecommunications giant first announced the JioPhone Next at its Annual General Meeting. Regrettably, the budget phone did not go on sale at the time due to global chip shortages. However, the JioPhone Next is finally slated to go on its first sale in India today, November 5.

Reliance teamed up with Google to make the JioPhone Next. The company has asked those interested in getting their hands on the new phone to register on the company’s website or via WhatsApp first. Once the registration is completed, they can head straight to the store. A Reliance Digital Store representative told Gadgets 360 that the JioPhone Next is currently in stock. However, it will be available only to those who have already registered.

The company is currently doling out unmissable EMI plans on the purchase of its new budget smartphone. As part of the EMI plans, consumers only need to pay INR 1,999 initially to purchase the phone. Those Interested can go to the company’s official website to enter their details and show interest. Alternatively, they can send “Hi” to 7018270182 via WhatsApp. Users will have to share details such as their location at the time of registration. Moreover, registered users will be notified when they can visit the store and purchase the JioPhone Next. To recall, the Reliance JioPhone Next carries a price tag of INR 6,499.

However, can avail of an Easy EMI option where they have to pay just INR 1,999 initially. It is worth mentioning here that they will have to pay INR 501 as processing fees as well. They can pay the remaining amount through easy EMI. According to the representative, users will be notified to get the phone in one or two days. In a bid to make the JioPhone Next available to more consumers, Reliance teamed up with over 30,000 retail outlets across the country. Aside from that, the company is offering a paperless digital financing option to ensure effortless access even in the remotest corners of India.

The JioPhone Next boasts impressive features and sufficiently good specifications despite carrying an affordable price tag. Moreover, the phone will come with a device lock feature that restricts access if a consumer fails to pay its EMIs. Furthermore, the phone runs an optimized version of Android dubbed Pragati OS, which is ideal for Indian users. The phone sports a 5.45-inch display that offers an HD+ (720×1,440 pixels) resolution. Moreover, it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for additional protection.

In the optics department, the JioPhone Next houses a 13MP main camera and an 8MP front shooter for selfies and video calling. Under the hood, the phone packs a 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 quad-core processor. Moreover, it ships with 2GB of RAM and offers 32GB of expandable (up to 512GB) onboard storage capacity.

Furthermore, the JioPhone Next draws its juices from a 3,500mAh battery. For connectivity, it offers dual-SIM (Nano) slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a Micro-USB port. In addition to that, the phone comes with a wide range of sensors including a proximity sensor, light sensor, and accelerometer. JioPhone Next supports automatic software upgrades. Other notable features include Google Assistant support, Live Translate, and Read Aloud.
