As the end of the year is nearing, we’re getting ready for the reveal of the Oppo Reno7 series. Oppo has pretty much established this schedule of bringing two Reno generations every year. A few months ago, we saw the release of the Oppo Reno6 series, now the company may bring the Oppo Reno7 series until the end of December. Of course, this launch will only hit the Chinese market. International markets should need to wait until the end of the year. According to the rumors, there won’t be an Oppo Reno7 Pro Plus variant. Instead, we’ll have an Oppo Reno7, Reno7 Pro. Now, recent reports suggest an Oppo Reno7 SE variant.
Recently, the complete specs sheet for the Reno7 phones had leaked. The Oppo Reno7 SE, as the name suggests, is an entry-level smartphone among the three phones. It was touted to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC. However, a new report, suggests that Oppo will pick a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip for this handset. In fact, it may be fairly similar to a device from one of Oppo’s sister companies.
Gizchina News of the week
Realme, for starters, was an Oppo sub-brand in the past. Since 2019, the BBK Group which reigns over Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and Realme, decided to free the ties of the successful sub-brand and make it a separate company. However, both companies still share technologies and engineering. Based on this, it’s not a surprise to see similar smartphones coming from these brands. Now, the most recent report, suggests that the Oppo Reno7 will be fairly similar to the Realme GT Master Edition.
Oppo Reno7 SE alleged specifications
The Oppo Reno7 SE will launch as a rebranded Realme GT Master Edition, or at least as a close sibling. For now, there is no official confirmation from Oppo regarding the leaked news. However, in case it is legitimate, then the Oppo Reno7 SE will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. Under the hood, the phone draws its powers from a 4,300 mAh battery with support for 60 W fast-charging. The Realme GT Master Edition, on the other hand, has 65 W charging.
The handset flaunts a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. While the GT Master supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, the Reno7 SE will come with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It will come with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of Internal Storage. There will be a punch-hole camera with 32 MP resolution. On the back, there will be a 64 MP camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera.
For now, we need to wait for official confirmation about the new series release from Oppo. We should hear more about these devices in the coming weeks.
