iQOO 8 Gets BIS Certified, India Launch Imminent

iQOO 8 has passed through the BIS certification website, hinting at an imminent India launch of the much-awaited smartphone. iQOO India is reportedly prepping to bring the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend smartphones into the Indian market this month. In the meantime, the rumor mill has been churning out all sorts of speculations around the upcoming iQOO 8 series smartphones. It is worth mentioning here that iQOO is still mum on its plan to launch the iQOO 8 lineup in the country.

To recall, the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro smartphones went official in China in August. The smartphones succeed in the company’s well-received iQOO 7 series. Last month, a report suggested that the iQOO 8 and the iQOO 8 Legend models will launch in India soon after hitting the store shelves in the company’s home country of China. Furthermore, the word on the street is that iQOO will launch the iQOO 8 Pro variant in India as the iQOO 8 Legend. Nevertheless, the different moniker does not necessarily imply that the device will boast different specifications as well.

iQOO 8 India Launch Could Be Around The Corner

The standard iQOO 8 with model number V2136 has grabbed the BIS certification. For those who are unaware, devices need to acquire the BIS certification before launching in India. Aside from that, the certification serves as an indication that the device will launch soon in the country. The iQOO 8 and 8 Pro smartphones were recently spotted on the IMEI database. Last month, even the 1QOO 8 successors dubbed the iQOO 9 graced the IMEI database carrying model number V2171A.

Noted leaker Mukul Sharma shared a screenshot of the iQOO 8 smartphone’s BIS certification on Twitter. As mentioned, earlier reports suggest that iQOO could launch the iQOO 8 Pro in India as the iQOO 8 Legend. Meanwhile, the company is hard at work on the iQOO 9 series smartphones that will reportedly launch next year. Despite the lack of an official confirmation, specifications and other key details about the iQOO 8 smartphones have been making the rounds online for quite some time now.

Specifications & Features (Expected)

If rumors making the rounds on the internet turn out to be true, the standard iQOO 8 will sport a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with 1,080 X 2,376 pixels resolution. Moreover, previous reports claim that the phone’s display will offer a high refresh rate of 120Hz. Aside from that, it will reportedly deliver a pixel density of 398 PPI, a screen-to-body ratio of 92.76 percent, and an aspect ratio of 19:8:9. Furthermore, a report from GizBot suggests that the phone will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship processor, along with an Adreno 660 GPU under the hood.

Aside from that, the report suggests that the phone will ship with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Also, it is likely to offer a hearty 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On top of that, the phone will be drawing its juices from a 4,350mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. Moreover, the iQOO 8 could house a triple camera setup at the back. This rear-mounted camera module will probably house a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor, along with an f/1.79 main camera. In addition to that, the phone could get a 13MP portrait and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. Upfront, the phone could feature a 16MP selfie camera.
