Nokia Announces X100 Mid-Range 5G Handset with Snapdragon 480 5G SoC, 48MP Rear Shooter

Earlier this year, Nokia announced its X-series of devices, consisting of the Nokia X10 and Nokia X20, both of which are mid-range offerings yet to launch in the Indian region.

Today, the company has added to its lineup of the X-series by announcing a new device in the United States feature the Nokia X100 moniker, which fails to reveal a lot of information.

This new smartphone is quite similar to the Nokia X10, but it is available in the United States of America for two carriers, namely Metro and T-Mobile. The specifications are identical to the X10, with a price tag of around $300.

When it comes to pricing and availability, the Nokia X100 is available in a single variant which packs in 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with just one hue on offer, namely Midnight Blue. The device retails for $250 or Rs 18,500 if we convert the pricing.

Specification-wise, the device features a rather large 6.67-inch FHD+ display which is of the IPS LCD variety, with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top to prevent accidental drops and scratches. This display has an aspect ratio of 20:9 with regular 60Hz refresh rate.

Moving to the rear is a quad-rear stack in a circular module, with a primary 48MP shooter, coupled with a 5MP ultra-wise sensor and dual 2MP shooters for depth and macro capabilities. There is also a 16MP front snapper for selfies and videos.

Performance is decent, with a Snapdragon 480 5G SoC from Qualcomm, coupled with 6GB of RAM. The storage, which is limited to 128GB can be increased via a microSD card slot. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack is also present. The device boots Android 11 out of the box.

Connectivity options consist of Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/, USB Type-C, NFC, 4G VoLTE, 5G and more. The phone draws power via a 4,500 mAh battery with support for relatively fast 18W charging support.

In other Nokia news, the much-awaited Nokia T20 tablet went official in India after floating around the rumor mill for a long time. This is the first-ever tablet from HMD Global, the Nokia brand licensee.

The first tablet from the Finnish mobile phone maker boasts an impressive array of features and high-end specifications. It sports an impressive 2K display.

Aside from that, the newly launched tablet draws its juices from a robust 8,200mAh battery. The Nokia T20 arrived in the European market earlier this year.
