Every social platform or messenger is working hard to bring as many security features as possible. In this sense, WhatsApp has been testing a new feature for a while. The new visibility option will let you hide your information from specific contacts. First, we learned about it back in September. When it was leaked, we saw that the feature would let you hide your Last Seen, Profile Picture, and About info from contacts you choose. As for now, this new feature is already being rolled out with the latest WhatsApp beta update. So if you are enrolled in this program, you can try it out yourself.

Recently, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp beta v2.21.23.14 for Android introduces the new visibility option. However, the feature was active only for selected users. In order to test it out, you ought to download the latest release from the Play Store or APK Mirror. Once done, navigate to the Privacy Settings and select the new ā€œMy Contacts Exceptā€¦ā€ option. With this move, you will add contacts you want to block. Lastly, the new visibility option of WhatsApp is available for your WhatsApp Status, Last Seen, and About info.

As you guess, by selecting enabling this feature, concrete contacts won see your WhatsApp Status, Last Seen, and About information. But you should be also informed that once disabled Last Seen for a contact, you wonā€™t be able to see it on their profile either. The rest of two information (WhatsApp Status and About) will work with no glitches.

WhatsApp New Feature Is Still In The Testing Phase

As the source proves, this visibility feature is still available for a limited number of beta testers. Thus, if you are not among them, itā€™s helpless to check whether it is available on the version you have. But thatā€™s not difficult to guess that WhatsApp will enable this feature for all users in the near future. At least, all last tested features have had the same ending.

Apart from this, we knew that WhatsApp had been testing a few other features as well. Say, the messenger is currently working on a new Community feature, Novi integration for payments, a new UI for contact info, etc.

Many famous mobile messengers donā€™t want to be associated with mobile only. Thatā€™s why most of them develop the web-based version for desktop computers as well. WhatsApp is among them. Just recently, the company announced the messenger can be used on other devices without the need of having a smartphone connected to the internet. Simply put, now you can access your conversations from PC or from WhatsApp Web even without your smartphone.
