Samsung is already moving on to the 2022 generation of Galaxy smartphones. While our eyes are pointed to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 series, there are also other devices coming for the mid-range segment. The first 2022 refreshment will come in the form of the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G. The starting smartphone in the Ax-series is coming soon and will take the Galaxy A22 5G place as the cheapest 5G smartphone from the company. Today, the device gave an important step that hints at an imminent release.

The FCC certification confirms the device’s moniker as Samsung Galaxy A13 5G. As per the FCC certification details, the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G carries the model number SM-A136U. The FCC listing discloses the device will come with 15 W charging support which is way below current offerings in the industry. However, it’s not too far from what low-end handsets are offering. Anyway, Samsung is not the most generous company when it comes to fast charging. Anyway, Samsung is not the most generous brand when it comes to fast-charging technology.

Samsung GalaxyA13 5G specifications

According to previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G will sport a 6.48-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ Display with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The device is touted to come with three RAM and storage configurations. The base model will offer 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Storage. The intermediary option will come with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. Lastly, there is a higher version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. The handset will run Android 11 straight out of the box with One UI 3.1 skin on top. The single fact that is still coming with Android 11 already hints at the imminent launch. Under the hood, the device is coming with the Dimensity 700 SoC. It’s the same chipset powering the Galaxy A22 5G. However, Samsung may bring the price a little lower with the newer model.

In terms of optics, the Galaxy A13 5G should come with a triple-camera setup on the back. The rear-facing camera module might consist of a 50 MP primary camera sensor. The 50 MP camera is supposed to be accompanied by a 5 MP Ultrawide snapper and a 2 MP depth sensor. In terms of selfies, the device will come with an 8 MP snapper.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A13 5G will carry a 5,000 mAh battery with the already mentioned charging. Dimensions wise, it will measure 164.5 mm x 76.5 mm x 8.9 mm. There will also be a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The device will launch in the United States and Canada for around $250. The South-Korean smartphone will launch the handset in Black, Orange, Blue, and White colorways.
