South Korean smartphone giant Samsung has announced that it will start rolling out the One UI 4 update with Android 12 to the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, which consists of the S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra starting November 15, which is today.
This information comes to us via Android Authority and it is no surprise, after a two-month beta period for the One UI 4 update for the S21 series of devices, with most of changes rolling out today already featuring in beta builds since the month of September.
The update rolling out today will however provide a much better experience, free of bugs and offering a rather polished and clean experience in comparison to the first-stage beta build.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Series Receiving One UI 4 with Android 12
Samsung’s One UI 4 is the skin of choice for the Android 12 update from the brand, which brings with it new customizations for the devices, key of which is color palettes that will allow users to change the look and feel of the app icons, wallpaper, notifications and home screen of their Galaxy. Reimagined widgets are also coming to the smartphones starting today.

To add to this, fresh GIFs, new emoji related features and stickers are also coming to the Samsung keyboard app, with not a lot of information on offer via the press release provided to publications. The Expressive Emoji feature has been detailed, wherein it will allow users to select two emojis and send them as an animated GIF.
Certain privacy and security related revisions are also coming to the best from the house of Samsung, with Android 12’s popular Privacy Dashboard making its way to Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series, which offers multiple security and privacy controls in one specific area.
What Else Will the Update Offer?
Users will also get notifications when a certain application tries to access the camera or microphone, much like iOS. Users can also turn off the microphone and camera access via quick settings.
To download this update, if you own a Samsung Galaxy S21, you need to go to Settings>Software Update. If the update shows up click on Download and Install. If it is not there, wait for some time, since carrier versions will get the update a bit later than usual.
Samsung also adds that the One UI 4 update (on top of Android 12) will soon be available for other Galaxy A, Note, S and foldable devices, with the Galaxy Note 20, Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 already running beta builds as of the time of writing this article.
