Samsung is doing its best to ensure that its flagship smartphones will close 2021 with the full-fledged version of Android 12-based One UI 4 in tow. The company came from one of the worst brands with Android updates to one of the best. The company is currently testing Android 12 builds in its recent flagships including the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3. Today, the duo of foldable smartphones is receiving the second One UI 4 beta with bug fixes and many improvements. With the second beta, these devices are giving one step closer to the stable release.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 are getting the second beta of the Android 12 firmware. The new update boasts the ZUKA identifier and brings several noteworthy bug fixes over its predecessor. According to reports, there are fixes for slowdowns in the UI, automatic Wi-Fi connection, and fixes for lock screen issues. The update also enhances the camera performance and makes the UI more responsive with just a few slowdowns. The fact that there are still slowdowns is a clear indication that the devices aren’t still close to a stable release.
Gizchina News of the week
One UI 4 beta 2 is rolling out for the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 units in South Korea
As usual, Samsung is rolling out the second beta in the South Korean market. The company always does this by launching new beta builds in its homeland at the first moment. If no critical bug appears in the coming days, we should see the company expanding the rollout to more regions. So, users in global markets that are already running the first beta get ready for the second beta!
Talking about the changes, known bugs such as random reboots and screen freeze were targeted with this beta. Of course, only time will tell if they have been fully addressed. Users will also get enhancement in incoming text, overlapping, widgets, and GIF settings. The company has improved the stuttering behavior when sharing the batteries. Moreover, it has addressed issues with other services and the Samsung Health app.
Worth noting that if you’re not an advanced user, then the update is not meant for you. Especially when you have a super-expensive smartphone like this as your daily driver. We expect the company to roll out one more beta early in the next month ahead of a possible stable release by the end of the month. According to the official roadmap in South Korea and Brazil, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 will receive a stable update in December 2021.
