Indian telco provider Reliance announced the JioPhone Next during its annual AGM meeting in June, with the smartphone going on sale during Diwali in India.

Until recently, customers could buy the smartphone by registering for the same by going to the Jio Mart Digital retailer or Jio.com/Next, or by sending a text on WhatsApp with the message ‘Hi’ on 70182-70182.

Now, this is changing, since Reliance will let users buy the phone via the Reliance Digital website, without needing to register for the same, with the smartphone retailing for the same price, but with certain card discounts available.

For those curious, the JioPhone Next is available in India for Rs 6,499 for the lone 2GB+32GB variant, with the Reliance Digital website offering a 10% instant discount on Yes Bank credits and up to 7.5% off on American Express cards, with EMI options starting at Rs 305.93 on a monthly basis.

The JioPhone Next boasts impressive features and sufficiently good specifications despite carrying an affordable price tag. Moreover, the phone will come with a device lock feature that restricts access if a consumer fails to pay its EMIs.

Furthermore, the phone runs an optimized version of Android dubbed Pragati OS, which is ideal for Indian users. The phone sports a 5.45-inch display that offers an HD+ (720×1,440 pixels) resolution. Moreover, it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for additional protection.
