Xiaomi is already ready to move onto the 2022 roadmap. The company should launch its first “next-gen” product in the form of the Xiaomi 12 series sometime in December. The release of the Xiaomi 12 and 12X will be followed by the arrival of many new products from Xiaomi itself, POCO, and Redmi. The latter is expected to disclose the Redmi K50 series in the first quarter of 2022. However, there will be more hot products coming with Redmi branding.
Yesterday, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group China and General Manager of the Redmi brand, took to Weibo to hype up Redmi products coming in 2022. The question seemed netizens’ word on the product they’re looking forward to the most.
A bunch of exciting Redmi products will come in 2022 led by the Redmi K50 series
The replies to the post mostly revolved around the upcoming Redmi K50 series and netizens expect the flagship to start at CNY 1,999 or around $313. It’s a reasonable guess, after all, Redmi has kept this the usual price for the Redmi K20, Redmi K30 5G, and the Redmi K40. The executing also posted another similar question on Weibo about whether the Redmi K50 series needs an SE model. Curiously, Mi fans say that this is unnecessary as the lineup also has 4 models.
Gizchina News of the week
These four models probably are the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro Plus, and the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. The K50 Pro Plus should bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, or Snapdragon 8Gx Gen 1. The gaming edition is likely coming with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC which has similar specs to the 8 Gen 1. The other two devices will likely bring the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 and the Snapdragon 870. At least one of the models will come with a 108 MP primary camera and X-axis haptics motor. There will also be JBL Dual Stereo Speakers following the new standard set with the Chinese Redmi Note 11 series.
Although the Redmi K50 series will likely take the crown of the Redmi lineup we also expect many new products. Redmi will expand the Redmi Note 11 series availability to global markets and India. More than that, we may see completely new smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon chips. The brand will also unveil new true wireless earbuds and new smartwatches and smart bands. We also expect more AIoT products, new smart TVs, and new laptops.
