OnePlus ‘Ivan’ Smartphone Receives BIS Certification, Likely to Be Part of Nord Lineup

OnePlus Nord N10

OnePlus has been working on a smartphone or two in recent times, with the company expected to announce its OnePlus 10 series of flagship devices and the OnePlus 9RT in the coming months.

With that being said, today is the time for a different OnePlus phone, since a mysterious OnePlus smartphone with the model number IV2201 has received the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification in India.

Whilst it is not a clear indication of a new device coming to India, this certification does suggest that an upcoming OnePlus smartphone could launch in India in the coming months, most likely in early 2022.

When Will the OnePlus Ivan Launch in India?

What is worth noting is that this is the firs instance of this model number appearing online, raising some eyebrows over what this device could exactly be.

Noted leakster Yogesh Brar has told 91mobiles that this device features the codename Ivan and could be a Nord-series device. This suggests that the OnePlus ‘Ivan’ could be the successor to the Nord CE handset, or it could be a new offering.

In other  news, the company has been working on its first tablet, likely to feature the OnePlus Pad moniker. This product will expand the company’s portfolio, which now consists of TVs, audio products and wearables, alongside smartphones.

Now, it seems that as the company is getting ready to launch the OnePlus 10 series, on the side it is also gearing up to debut the OnePlus Pad in India in the first half of 2022 if 91mobiles is to be believed.

What Else is the Smartphone Giant Working on?

OnePlus 10 Pro

Another bit of information reveals that the tablet will not be coming to the country alongside the 10 series, which suggests that a Q1 launch is unlikely.

Furthermore, the OnePlus 10 Pro flagship could launch in China in January 2022. However, the report suggests that the company will announce it globally before bringing it into the Chinese market.

The phone’s global announcement will take place either in March or April. The report attributes the phone’s delayed global launch to the unified OS that the Chinese company is working on in collaboration with Oppo.

Taking to his Twitter account on December 7, reliable tipster Max Jambor has shared what looks like a event invitation. Moreover, the tweet claims that the event will take place in Las Vegas on January 5, 2022.

Interestingly, the event’s date coincides with the day the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) will be kicking off. It is worth mentioning here that Jambor did not specifically mention the OnePlus 10 or the OnePlus 10 Pro in his tweet.
