Honor is working on a foldable smartphone. But this is not only the predictions of insiders, the company itself does not hide this and announced that the device will become part of the Magic line. The announcement of the new smartphone should be expected no earlier than the first quarter of next year, but today we can see how the Honor Magic Fold will look like.
The well-known network informant @RODENT950, who has repeatedly been accurate in his predictions about future Huawei / Honor products, has posted a render of the smartphone. Nobody really thought about the design of the smartphone. It was decided to carry it out in the same style as the Honor 50 and Honor 60. The necessary similarity was achieved due to the design of the main camera of the Honor Magic Fold, which received three image sensors.
All in all, it will be a Galaxy Fold 3 style smartphone with an additional screen on the outside. It is noteworthy that the front camera does not appear on the render. Perhaps the company chose to send it under the display, or even abandoned it.
Whether the Honor Magic Fold will really look like this and what characteristics it will receive, there is no exact information. We hope that insiders will not leave us without a portion of information about the new product in the future.
Gizchina News of the week
Honor ranked third in China in smartphone sales – ahead of Xiaomi and Apple
Independent from Huawei, Honor is rapidly increasing sales of its smartphones in China. According to Counterpoint Research, third-quarter shipment volumes ranked the vendor as the third most successful smartphone vendor in the country.
Honor sold 96% more smartphones in the third quarter than in the previous quarter. As a result, the company won a 15% share in the Chinese gadget market; right after Vivo and Oppo (23% and 20%, respectively) according to analyst Counterpoint Research. Surprisingly, Xiaomi, extremely popular outside of China, in the home market is content with only fourth place; and Apple closes the top five.
Initially, Honor was a sub-brand of Huawei; under which devices of the budget and mid-range, as well as models for the youth audience, were produced. This year Huawei sold it to a consortium of companies that includes the authorities of the rapidly developing economic center – the city of Shenzhen. Huawei itself now occupies only 8% of the Chinese market; whereas a year ago it was in the lead with 30%.
The self-sufficient company resumed promoting its products in China; and now it sells rather expensive models, including the Magic3 Pro + smartphone introduced in August, which cost about $ 1250.
We also add that the total quarterly sales of smartphones in the Middle Kingdom fell by 9% in comparison with the previous year.
