Smartphone brands are getting set to launch flagships with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 as well as the Dimensity 9000. These chips were released a few days ago by Qualcomm and MediaTek respectively. From next year, we will have a plethora of flagship smartphones with these processors. However, for this year, it appears that the Snapdragon 870 will be the chip of choice. According to reports, Xiaomi and Redmi have a huge stock of Snapdragon 870 SoC. Popular Weibo tech blogger @DCS claims that the positioning of Xiaomi’s Snapdragon 870 smartphones is not low.
Other manufacturers will also have Snapdragon 870 tablets in the first half of next year. These tablets will be positioned in the mid-range market. Earlier report claims that the Redmi K50 series will have a Snapdragon 870 model. The Snapdragon 870 5G uses an enhanced Qualcomm Kryo 585 CPU core, and the super core frequency has reached 3.2GHz.
Redmi K50 series to use a long list of processors
According to a recent report, the Redmi K50 has a complete range of processors. There are reports that this device will use four chips. The Redmi K50 series will use the Snapdragon 870, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Dimensity 7000, and Dimensity 9000. The different models in this series should adopt different configurations. The Redmi K50 will use MediaTek’s sub-flagship, Dimensity 7000 chip which is better than the Snapdragon 870.
Gizchina News of the week
The Redmi K50 Pro will come with a relatively cheaper Dimensity 9000. This chip is a 4nm processor. It has a performance output that is on par or maybe better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. However, it may be slightly weaker in terms of image ISP and so on. Redmi K50 Pro+, as the top-of-the-line flagship, may use the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. The overall performance of this device should be better in all aspects. In addition, both Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 Pro+ models will support E5 high refresh rate and fast charging at 100W.
Redmi K50 series to use a premium display
Looking at the positioning of this series, the Redmi K50 series may be the first Redmi device with a 2K display. Not long ago, the president of Xiaomi Group China and the general manager of the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing revealed that Redmi K50 is too strong not to be called a flagship.
The Redmi K50 will come with a flagship display. According to the exposure options, Redmi’s internal planning for new products has five aspects: independent display, LCD, E6 material OLED, adaptive refresh rate technology, and 2K ultra-clear resolution. It is worth noting that the 2K ultra-clear resolution OLED, E6 material, independent display chip, and other specifications are all new configurations that have never been applied by the Redmi brand before. The Redmi K50 will likely be Redmi’s first 2K model and supports higher refresh rate adjustments.
The Redmi K40 comes with a flagship design as well as an E4 OLED high refresh rate display. As the next-generation product, Redmi K50 will continue its previous strategy and continue to use an ultra-high-quality screen.
