Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce its MIUI 13 in the next few days with the release of Xiaomi 12. However, there are still plenty of smartphones that are yet to receive the latest possible MIUI 12 version. The twelfth version of MIUI arrived early last year to become one of the longest runs for a version of the skin. Earlier this year, we saw Xiaomi rolling out an incremental step for the pure MIUI 12 dubbed MIUI 12.5. A few months later, it announced MIUI 12.5 Enhanced as the last step before MIUI 13. Several rumors were pointing to the MIUI 13 release earlier this year, but Xiaomi wasn’t able to deliver the firmware in time. There are still several devices getting MIUI 12.5 Enhanced and for some MIUI 13 will be a distant dream. As far as the Redmi Note 10S is concerned, its users are getting the “latest” firmware available today.

Redmi Note 10S specs recap
Worth noting that the Redmi Note 10s is one of the 4G smartphones in the lineup boasting the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC. The chipset is certainly old at this point with a 12 nm architecture. However, it still is better than other offerings for the cost-effective segment. Besides the processing power, the device has a 6.43-inch Full HD AMOLED display. Furthermore, it packs a Quad-Camera setup with a 64 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultrawide, a 2 MP macro, and a 2 MP depth-sensing module. There is a 13 MP selfie snapper inside of a punch hole.
Other Redmi Note 10S aspects include stereo speakers a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a micro SD card slot, side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also has an IP53 rating, a 5,000 mAh battery, and 33W fast charging. The Redmi Note 10s runs Android 11 straight out of the box and we assume it will be eligible for an Android 12 update. It may also get MIUI 13 in the next year, but you should not hold your breath for it.
