iQOO launched its iQOO 8 series just a few months back but is already moving on to release the iQOO 9 series in China. As the days are passing, we’re hearing more and more details about the upcoming handsets. Today, the iQOO 9 has received certification from China’s electronics certifying authority 3C. It serves as strong evidence that iQOO is already doing preparations for the launch. In addition, it shares some interesting details about the charging capabilities of the handset.
The smartphone appeared in the triple C certification with model number V2171. If you have been following the rumors closely, you know that this name belongs to the iQOO 9. The device has been confirmed with 120 W fast-charging. This may not be a big surprise since this is the most cutting-edge standard offered by iQOO. But serves as a good confirmation that the iQOO 9 is not taking steps back.
iQOO 9 specifications
The iQOO 9 already passed through a number of leaks so we already know some of the specs we can expect from the handset. One of the main features is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which already makes it more powerful than the iQOO 8 with Snapdragon 888+. We don’t know much about the RAM / Storage variants but seems to be reasonable to expect a variant with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 Storage.
Gizchina News of the week
Interestingly, iQOO seems to be preparing an iQOO 9 Pro variant with the same chipset. It’s not clear which are the differences between the two variants. We expect the flagship to also stick with the new “Dual Chip” strategy, meaning that there will be an independent display chip. It would take care of the high-refresh-rate demands while the SD8 Gen 1 would be free to do its performance tricks. In terms of display, we expect it with an OLED screen and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The iQOO 9 will bring a dual X-axis linear vibration motor, and two pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons for gaming. We also expect stereo speakers to make everything more immersive.
The camera details are still a mystery, but rumors say that this device will make some nice improvements in the camera department. For instance, the device is touted with optical image stabilization, which will be a first for the series. The battery size is also a mystery, but we expect at least 4,500 mAh battery capacity.
The iQOO 9 will hit China first, but a global launch shouldn’t be discarded some months later.
