OnePlus 10 Pro to come with better selfie camera and 80W charging

The new year is about to come and OnePlus is gearing up to introduce its new flagship series in the form of the OnePlus 10 series. Interestingly, this lineup should bring a bunch of novelties in terms of hardware and software. The OnePlus 10 series should debut with the new unified software made in collaboration with Oppo. Talking about hardware, we can expect the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the top models. Moreover, there are other nice improvements coming too. According to the reputed Chinese leakster, Digital Chat Station, some specs will resemble the OnePlus 9 Pro. However, the selfie camera and charging tech will get improvements.

OnePlus 10 Pro alleged specifications

The OnePlus 10 Pro will inherit the 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display of the 120 Hz refresh rate of the OnePlus 9 Pro. The device will also bring a punch hole in the upper left corner just like previous models. However, the new camera will be a 32 MP unit. Moving around to the back, the same 48 MP wide, 50 MP ultrawide, and 8 MP 3x telephoto camera will be kept. This may disappoint some users that were expecting higher numbers. However, the sensors could also be different.

Another aspect improved will be the fast-charging technology. According to the report, the wireless charging will go up to 50 W. Meanwhile, the wired charging will reach the blazing fast 80 W rates. Interestingly, the Oppo Find X4 Pro which is Oppo’s next top-of-the-line smartphone is also rumored to come with this 80W charging. It’s more than a mere coincidence and shows that OnePlus and Oppo are deeply sharing their resources.

The leakster didn’t reveal the chipset and battery capacity of the handset. However, we can expect the Standard and Pro variant in the OnePlus 10 family to have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. We still don’t know if OnePlus will bring a OnePlus 10R. If that is the case, then it could pack a Snapdragon 888+. But still, now that OnePlus and MediaTek are also partners, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a OnePlus 10 variant with the Dimensity 9000. After all, reports suggest that even the vanilla Oppo Find X4 will use the Dimensity 9000. This chipset offers equal specs to Qualcomm’s offering.

In terms of battery, we don’t see OnePlus making big advancements. The device may still come with a 4,500 mAh battery. In terms of software, we may see the new unified OS in action, or perhaps just a new launcher for ColorOS 12. Time will tell, but we know it will be on top of Android 12.
