Panasonic Toughbook S1 rugged tablet has been launched in India, and it boasts an array of impressive features. On Monday, December 20, Panasonic brought a new rugged tablet into the Indian market, targeting various sectors such as field service, transportation, and logistics. The Panasonic Toughbook S1 runs the Android 10 (Android Enterprise) version out of the box. This OS reportedly offers improved reliability, management, and app safety for various businesses.

Furthermore, the rugged tablet from Panasonic sport a 7-inch IPS LCD panel that delivers a WXGA resolution. Aside from that, the compact Panasonic Toughbook S1 tablet has NFC, as well as a barcode reader. According to the Japanese tech giant, the new tablet works efficiently even in extreme conditions and delivers better productivity. To recall, the rugged tablet went official in the US back in May.

The Panasonic Toughbook S1 rugged tablet’s price in India starts at INR 98,000. However, the tablet will set you back $2,499 (about INR 1.89 lakh) in the United States. The tablet will be up for grabs in India via system integrators. and the company’s distributors.

The Panasonic Toughbook S1 sports a 7-inch IPS LCD display that offers a WXGA (800 x 1200 pixels) resolution. Moreover, the display panel is easy to view even outdoors. Also, it can be operated even while wearing gloves or using a passive pen. Further, the rugged tablet is drop-resistant (minimum 1.5 meters). It works at 20 to 50 degrees Celsius temperature. The Toughbook S1 packs an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC from Qualcomm under the hood.

Aside from that, the rugged tablet features an Adreno 512 GPU. The Toughbook S1 ships with 4Gb of RAM and offers 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. In the photography department, the Toughbook S1 houses a 13MP primary camera at the back. Upfront, it has a 5MP shooter for video calling and capturing selfies. Moreover, the tablet runs Android 10 with Android Enterprise, which reportedly offers superior management, reliability and improves application safety. In terms of attachable accessories, the tablet comes with a USB Type-A port and a barcode reader (P/ L), according to a report from Gadgets360.

In terms of connectivity options, the Panasonic Toughbook S1 offers a 3.5mm headphone jack, one port replicator, a MicroSD/ SDXC card slot, and a USB Type-C port. Aside from that, the tablet supports NFC, Bluetooth v5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/d/h/i/r/k/v/w, and 4G LTE.
