The much-awaited iQOO U5 5G smartphone has been launched, and it boasts an impressive array of features and top-end specs. iQOO has introduced a new entrant in its well-received U-series of smartphones dubbed, the iQOO U5 5G in China on Tuesday, December 21. The Chinese smartphone brand had unveiled the iQOO U3 earlier this year. The newly launched iQOO U5 5G succeeds the well-received iQOO U3, and has sufficiently good features.

For instance, this 5G-enabled phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC under the hood. Aside from that, it sports a full-HD+ display that offers a high refresh rate of 120Hz. Furthermore, the processor is paired with 8GB of RAM. The phone will ship with 128GB of onboard storage capacity.

The recently unveiled iQOO U5 5G is available in three memory and storage configurations, according to a listing on JD.com. These include a model that offers 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and the base variant that comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Moreover, you can choose between three appealing color options, including Magic Blue, Silver White, and Dark Black. Regrettably, details about the price tag it will be carrying are still scarce.

The iQOO U5 5G smartphone is slated to go up for pre-orders starting from December 24, 2021, via the Chinese e-commerce portal. Aside from that, iQOO is still mum on its plan to launch the iQOO U5 5G phone in other regions including India.

Specifications & Features

Upfront, the iQOO U5 smartphone has a 6.58-inch OLED panel that delivers a Full HD+ resolution, coupled with a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it has a water-drop notch to accommodate the front shooter. The phone will draw its power from an octa-core Snapdragon 695 processor. Also, it will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage capacity. On the software front, the iQOO U5 will run Android 11 out of the box with iQOO UI 1.0 on top.

For optics, the U5 will house two rear-mounted cameras. The camera setup will comprise a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfie enthusiasts, the phone will feature an 8MP shooter at the front. A robust 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging will power up the entire system. Moreover, the side edge will house a fingerprint sensor that is fixed inside the power button. The phone will also feature a microSD card for storage expansion. For connectivity, the phone has a USB Type-C port.
