Oppo A11s goes official with Snapdragon 460 and 5,000 mAh battery

Oppo may be busy with the development of its new Oppo Find X series, as well as with the sales of its very first foldable smartphone. However, this does not prevent the company from filling the budget segment with yet another addition. Today, the company is launching a new budget handset under its Oppo A-series with modest specifications. The new device carries the Oppo A11s moniker and has been introduced in China. It’s not common anymore to see 4G phones debuting in China, but Oppo is confident that for the right price the device will sell well. We can also see it reaching other markets in the next year.

Oppo A11s specifications

The Oppo A11s flaunts a 6.5-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels. Interestingly, this device refresh at 90 Hz which is a very nice addition. After all, we’re often seeing brands neglecting the high-refresh-rate in low-end devices. It’s good to see Oppo basically saying that this is also something for its budget smartphones. Moving on, the device will come with a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner for the 8 MP selfie snapper.

Moving around to the back, the Oppo A11s packs a triple-camera setup. The main snapper is a 13 MP snapper and comes alongside 2 MP depth and 2 MP macro cameras. Obviously, the main is the only camera really useful here. Unless you’re not an exigent user. Moving on, the device is listed with 63.9 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm dimensions and weighs 188 grams. The handset will come in simple Black and White colorways.

One of the most curious facts is that this Oppo A11s is running Android 10 with Color OS 7.2 on top. It’s really unacceptable to see a device coming with 2019’s Android version. We’re about to enter 2022 and Android 12 is already here for a couple of months. Oppo itself is already updating some of its smartphones to the Android 12-based ColorOS 12. If you care for updates, then the Oppo A11s shouldn’t be an option for you. The device is at least two years outdated when it comes to the software.

In terms of performance, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC. There are two variants with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of Storage and 8 GB of RAM with 128GB of Internal Storage. The entry option will come at CNY 999 ($156) while the higher will cost CNY 1,199 ($188).
