Realme will be on a roll during the first quarter of 2022. The company is gearing up to introduce its Realme GT 2 series and also the Realme 9 series in the next few weeks. The show will start on January 4 with the new Realme GT 2 series. The new devices are the Realme GT 2 and the GT 2 Pro. The latter will be the flagship for 2022 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, while the former is a slight upgrade over its predecessor featuring the very same Snapdragon 888 SoC. Today, this vanilla variant has passed through the Geekbench benchmark bearing the RMX 3310 moniker.
The Realme GT 2 is coming with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, and the latest Geekbench run just corroborates with this fact. The device with model number RMX 3310 has passed through the benchmarking realms with Qualcomm’s 2021 flagship SoC. We would prefer to see a Snapdragon 888+, but companies aren’t launching smartphones with it, apart from iQOO and Motorola.
The device is aided by 12 GB of RAM, which we assume uses the LPDDR5 standard. The device scores 1,125 points in the single-core tests and 3,278 points in the multi-core department. The listing further affirms Android 12 as the underlying software version. We’re pretty sure that the device will come with Realme UI 3 on top.
Gizchina News of the week
Realme GT 2 alleged specifications
The GT 2 has already passed through the India BIS certification agency and was also spotted at the NBTC and TENAA portals. The handset will pack a 6.62-inch AMOLED display and will come with a primary 50 MP camera, an 8 MP ultrawide snapper, and 2 MP auxiliary modules. The GT 2 has 162.9 x 75.8 x 8.6 mm dimensions. The weight is just 200 grams.
In terms of battery life, the GT 2 Pro is rumored to pack a 5,000 mAh battery. We don’t if that will be the case with the GT 2. Anyway, we expect something beyond the 4,500 mAh of its predecessor with Realme’s 65 W charging. The company was rumored to launch a flagship with its 125 W UltraDART charging this year. Some reports suggest it is the Realme GT 2 Pro, but so far we don’t see any evidence of this happening.
The Realme GT 2 and GT 2 Pro will reach the Chinese market in the next week. We don’t know how long these devices will take to reach the international markets. Realme has been using a gradual launch formula since the Realme GT 2 Neo. Maybe, we’ll see it reaching more markets in February and March 2022.
There are also rumors about a “Camera Performance” variant. That one would come with the leaked Nexus 6p-like design. However, it still needs further evidence.
