Vivo is gearing up to introduce a new Y-series smartphone for the Indian market. According to MySmartPrice and reputed leakster Ishan Agarwal, the new handset dubbed Vivo Y21T will reach the Indian market next Monday, January 3. Now, ahead of the official launch, the handset had its specifications completely leaked. The new leak comes as a courtesy from tipster Mukul Sharma. According to him, the new device will come in a Single Storage Option and two colorways. As expected, it’s coming for the low-end segment and the price should be attractive for less exigent users.
Vivo Y21T alleged specifications
The Vivo Y21T will reach the market under the INR 20,000 ($268) price segment, that’s what the source believes. Now, thanks to specifications, we can say if that price is worthy or not. The new budget smartphone contender flaunts a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 2,408 x 1,080 pixels. The phone will pack a 90 Hz refresh rate and sport a 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Moving around to the back, the handset has a triple-camera setup. As reported earlier, the device will have a 50 MP primary camera. It will be joined by a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. As we can see, only the primary camera is useful in this package. For selfies and video calls, the handset will sport an 8 MP camera.
Gizchina News of the week
5,000 mAh battery, extender RAM, and… Android 11
Under the hood, the Vivo V21T will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. This chipset is relatively new and is one of the few 6 nm chips that Qualcomm offers with just 4G connectivity. It succeeds the Snapdragon the 678 SoC that has disappeared from the market amidst the chipset crisis. The chipset will be paired with up to 4 GB of RAM. According to reports, Vivo will bring its extended RAM feature to give an extra 1 GB of Internal Storage from the 128 GB Storage. You can also expand the storage amount with a micro SD card.
The Vivo Y21T draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18 W fast-charging. In terms of software, the phone will run Android 11-based Funtouch OS 12 straight out of the box. That’s a shame that we’re still seeing smartphones coming with Android 11. Moving on, the device will measure 164.26 x 76.08 x 8mm and weigh about 182 grams. It will come with a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The handset will have two colorways – Midnight Blue and Pearl White.
