Realme GT 2, Realme GT 2 Pro Sporting Flagship Grade Qualcomm SoCs, AMOLED Displays Launched in China


Realme GT 2 Series

Chinese smartphone giant Realme has finally unveiled its Realme GT 2 flagship series in the Chinese region today, with the series comprising of the Realme GT 2 and the Realme GT 2 Pro.

The smartphones, which are the company’s most premium handsets launched in some time pack in flagship-grade features, which include the new Snapdragon Gen 1 SoC from Qualcomm and other advancements over the predecessor.

Starting with the Realme GT 2 Pro, it packs in a massive 6.7-inch 2K Samsung AMOLED LTPO 2.0 display with support for 120Hz variable refresh rate. This display also has protection courtesy of Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus and comes with support for 1000Hz touch sampling rate.

Performance-wise, the device relies on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, with a new GT Mode 3.0 also allowing for GT mode desktop features and AI frame tech 2.0 as well as an overall reduction in power consumption.

Optics-wise, the device comes with dual 50MP sensors, the first of which is the primary sensor, with the secondary shooter being a 150-degree ultra-wide sensor. A third 40x Micro-lens finishes off the triple-camera stack.

Additional features include stereo speakers, NFC and a 5,000 mAh battery with 65W fast wired charging. The device will boot Realme UI 3.0 on top of Android 12 out of the box. The device will be available in four hues, namely Titanium Blue, Steel Black, Paper Green and Paper White.

On the other hand, the vanilla variant of the Realme GT 2 series makes some cuts in comparison to its Pro cousin. The Realme GT 2 packs in a  6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support.

How Much Will the Devices Retail for?

The phone relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Other aspects, such as the battery and colour hues of the handset remains the same as its Pro counterpart.

In terms of pricing, the Realme GT 2 is going to retail for RMB 2599 or Rs 30,500 approximately, with the Realme GT 2 Pro retailing from RMB 3699 or Rs 43,000 approx). Both devices will soon be coming to India, at least if the rumours are true.

When it comes to other Realme news, potential buyers of the Lava Agni 5G who own Realme’s Realme 8s handset, which is a similarly priced handset from the Chinese giant can get the Lava Agni for free when they exchange their 8s for the Agni. This offer is valid till January 7, with customers needing to fill out details on the official site for this process.
