The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones’ display panel design has popped up on the internet, and it’s mind-blowing. The rumor mill has been churning out speculations surrounding the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models. The word on the street is that the Cupertino-based tech behemoth will ditch the notch in favor of a display punch hole to house the front shooter. Aside from that, some reports suggest that Apple will be embedding Face ID components under the display.
If this speculation proves to be true, Apple will be following in the footsteps of Samsung. To recall, the South Korean tech giant adopted a similar strategy by placing the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s camera on the primary display. While nothing is set in stone yet, more vital pieces of information about the iPhone 14 Pro models have surfaced online courtesy of a noted leaker. The latest leak sheds more light on Apple’s alleged approach for adopting a notch-less phone design.
Apple is reportedly gearing up to bring a pill-shaped punch hole to its new iPhones. Furthermore, this region is said to accommodate Face ID components like the flood illuminator and the infrared camera. Aside from that, past leaks suggest that the company is planning to use the pull-shaped, as well as a circular cutout in the screen where every component that is currently available in the iPhone’s notch will be moved.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Display Design
Reliable leaker Dylan corroborated previously tipped details about the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max smartphones’ punch-hole cameras. According to the tipster, the Face ID hardware will be available under the display. In other words, Apple will be ditching its notch design that has existed on its flagship devices since the launch of the iPhone X. On top of that, a photo of what appears to be an iPhone 14 Pro model has surfaced on the web. The photo aligns with Dylan’s earlier claims, according to a report by NotebookCheck.

It looks like Apple is actually planning to introduce an elliptical punch hole for the selfie camera. Aside from that, the right side appears to feature a circular punch hole for Face ID hardware. The alleged iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max rear panel design gives us our first close look at the setup. However, some leakers suggest that the circular cut-out will house the Face ID module. Moreover, they suggest that the cut-out will be reflective. In other words, the cut-out will not be visible when you look at the display.
What Else To Expect
If cut-out turns out to be reflective, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max smartphones’ status bar could look quite similar to the leaked mockup. However, it is worth mentioning here that Apple is reportedly prepping to use punch-hole displays only on the iPhone 14 Pro series smartphones. So, the standard iPhone 14 is highly likely to retain the notch. Aside from that, these models will reportedly pack the A16 Bionic chip under the hood. The A16 Bionic will be another 5 nm SoC if rumors making the rounds online prove to be true.
