Realme is preparing a new round of Realme 9 smartphones for release. The company started its lineup with the Realme 9i and it’s about to get bigger with the release of the Realme 9, Realme 9 Pro, and an alleged Realme 9 Pro Plus variant. The former was already unveiled in Vietnam and will be making its landing in India in the next week. The other three devices are expected for February or March, and as expected, their details are starting to appear in a bigger intensity. Yesterday, we saw a couple of sketches showing the Realme 9 Pro. Now, OnLeaks and SmartPrix have provided a couple of beautiful design renders showing the handset in all its glory.
Design Renders
The Realme 9 Pro leaked renders show a display with a punch-hole cutout. The punch-hole will house the front selfie shooter and it will reside in the top left corner of the display. That’s the standard placement for Realme smartphones since the adoption of the punch-hole notch. Moving around to the back, we have a rectangular island comprising the triple-camera setup. Interestingly, that’s the same design language that started with the Realme GT Neo 2 and is also similar to the Realme GT 2 Pro.
Gizchina News of the week
The left part of the handset has the SIM Card Tray and the Volume Rockers. The right edge serves as a home for the Power button. Interestingly, the fingerprint scanner is nowhere to be seen in the renders. Perhaps, the device will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner just like its predecessor. Hopefully, this time around Realme won’t repeat the mistake of bringing an AMOLED display with just a 60 Hz refresh rate. At least the leaks have been pointing to a much-upgraded panel. The device’s back seems to feature some kind of Polycarbonate. That should be a measure to cut down the price of the handset.
Realme 9 Pro alleged specifications
According to the leaked specs sheet, the Realme 9 Pro will pack a 6.59-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, the device will bring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 with up to 8 GB o
f RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. Realme is dropping the 108 MP camera from the Realme 8 Pro for a more conventional 64 MP snapper. Perhaps, the 108 MP shooter will be left for the Pro+ variant. The device also has an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, there is are a 16 MP camera.
The handset draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with 33 W charging. The company is downgrading the charging speed once again and it’s a pity. The Realme 7 Pro launched with 65W charging, the 8 Pro dropped it to 50W, and now the Realme 9 Pro charges even slower. This was the price to improve the device’s display and bring 5G. 33W is still adequate and is better than some flagship devices in the market, but it’s a little below Realme’s usual standards.
