It has been a while since the last time we heard about the upcoming Vivo X80 series. While Vivo does not bring new flagships, it keeps filling the segment of budget and mid-range devices with new contenders under its V and Y series. Recently, the company introduced its Vivo V23 series in India. Now, it is preparing the terrain for a new Vivo Y21e smartphone. The handset will follow the Vivo Y33T, which was released the last week, and bear similar specifications. Today, we got more in-depth details about the Vivo V21e as 91Mobiles and Ishan Agarwal has shared a couple of specifications and rendering for the upcoming smartphone.
Vivo Y21e specifications
The Vivo V21e runs Android 12 with Funtouch OS 12. It’s great to see Android 12 here, as there are still many brands unveiling devices with Android 11. It’s good to see Vivo doing a decent treatment for a device that does not bear premium specifications. Further, on the leaked specs, the device features a 6.51-inch HD+ LCD with a 60 Hz refresh rate. This panel has a center-aligned punch-hole cutout that houses the selfie snapper. As usual in these mid-range phones, the bottom bezel is quite thick. The leaked renders also confirmed there will a black colorway and a white option with some kind of diamond pattern.

The leaked specs also confirm the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. For those unaware, this is one of Qualcomm’s latest 4G SoCs and is becoming popular among mid-range smartphones. A bunch of devices is reaching the market with this 6 nm processor. The device is expected to come with at least 3 GB of RAM with up to 64 GB of Internal Storage. We may see another variant with extra RAM. Anyway, it may also include a micro SD card slot for further storage expansion.
The Y21e draws its powers from a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 18 W charging. That’s a standard for low-end devices recently. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of optics, it boasts a dual-camera setup. It comprises a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP camera for depth sensing. For selfies and video calls, the device comes with a decent 8 MP snapper.
For now, there is no word on pricing for this smartphone. We may hear more about it in the coming days. Vivo will likely do a quiet launch for this handset.
