According to TechnikNews, Motorola’s next flagship smartphone is currently in testing. The speculation claims that this smartphone will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC (SM8475). However, this chip will be manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process. Recall that the current Snapdragon 8 Gen1 in the market uses Samsung’s 4nm process. Generally, TSMC’s 4nm process is more energy-efficient than Samsung’s process. Furthermore, the report claims that the Motorola flagship will use a 200MP rear main camera.
Obviously, this device will be a flagship smartphone and the code name of this phone is Frontier. Qualcomm SM8475, which was previously exposed as the codename of the TSMC process version of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen1, will use TSMC’s 4nm process. The frequency may not increase but the energy consumption ratio will improve.
In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 (TSMC version) and 200MP camera, this flagship will also come with a 6.67-inch FHD LCD screen. This display supports an ultra-high 144Hz refresh rate. The secondary camera of this device will be a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. This smartphone will also have a 12MP telephoto camera.

Furthermore, the front camera will be a 60MP sensor that will support the Always-On feature. It can automatically detect whether the user is watching to automatically lock the screen. This prevents others from peeping, and automatically hide message banners when others view the screen.
In addition, the fast charging will upgrade to 50W wireless and 125W wired fast charging. The speculations claim that this device will arrive in the third quarter of this year.
Motorola Is Working on a New Moto Razr Foldable Smartphone
Back in 2019, Motorola unveiled the Motorola Razr as part of the company’s attempts to revive the clamshell-foldable smartphone. Recently, Lenovo Executive, Chen Jin took to Weibo to reveal that the company is working on a third-generation Motorola Razr foldable smartphone. According to the post, the new foldable smartphone from Motorola will come with a tweaked UI, better design, and improved performance.
This comes at a time when the market is more competitive, meaning that Motorola itself will have to provide a better offering for a bit less than before, considering how the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 retails for just $999 and has features such as water resistance, flagship-grade performance, and a large, notch-free display.
We do hope that Motorola does not make the blunder it did last time, equipping the first-generation Moto Razr with specifications which, at the time, could be found on mid-range offerings, unlike Samsung.
