Apple AR / VR Headset has been delayed to 2023, price has been tipped

It’s not a secret to anyone that Apple is working on a new kind of AR and VR headset. In fact, this product is gearing to be the company’s next big thing for the world of technology. It will build a solid ecosystem that mixes augmented reality with virtual reality. This product has been expected for 2021, but last year’s reports revealed that it was delayed to 2022. Now, however, it seems that the product is still not ready. The latest report from Bloomberg suggests that the company will only be ready to launch this product by 2023. That’s an interesting development, after all,  Apple AR / VR Headset was being expected for this year’s WWDC. Anyway, it’s not a surprise to see further delays amidst the ongoing global crisis.

Apple AR / Headset enthusiasts will need to wait until 2023

Apparently, Apple still needs more time to make this product proper for use. Bloomberg’s report cites a source familiar with the matter, who says overheating, software issues, and camera problems are the main culprits for the delay. As a result, the product may see its reveal at the end of 2022, but actual availability will start only by 2023.

Gizchina News of the week

A separate report by Bloomberg suggests that the starting price of the Apple AR / VR Headset will be over $2,000. That certainly is a high price for smartphones, but this is a product that takes everything beyond conventional smartphone usage. It needs a set of cameras and sensors to work properly and enable the augmented reality and virtual reality features. We are curious to see how this product will work in the real world. Moreover, we are particularly interested in seeing how Apple will make this a product that the customer really needs.

While the market of virtual reality and augmented reality has flourished among gaming cycles and other business-related purposes, it still isn’t something that attracts the average customer. Perhaps Apple is finding a new way to make this a product attractful to everyone. Interestingly, Cupertino is not the only company that is pushing its future towards augmented reality. Meta (Formerly known as Facebook Inc) is also working on a new kind of metaverse that will heavily rely on virtual reality technology.
