We’ve grown used to seeing two Oppo Reno generations every year. The thing slowed down last year amidst the crisis in the components markets, but for all effects, the company managed to launch two generations of its Oppo Reno series… In China. The company unveiled the Oppo Reno6 series in mid-2021, and the devices took a few months to reach international markets including India. Then, in November we saw the release of the Oppo Reno7 series in the company’s homeland. Unfortunately, the company hadn’t enough time to bring them to other places. This will change soon as the Oppo Reno7 series is now being teased in India.
Oppo Reno7 series coming to India soon
The Oppo Reno7 family includes devices like the Oppo Reno7 SE, Reno7, and Reno 7 Pro. Worth noting that the company didn’t release a Pro Plus variant this time around. The first evidence of these devices’ arrival in India has appeared today. A microsite for the Reno 7 series India launch has gone live on the Oppo India website and the e-commerce giant – Flipkart. The teasers showcase a device that is identical to the Oppo Reno7 Pro 5G variant.
Gizchina News of the week
Apparently, the company will launch more than one Reno7 series smartphone in India. After all, the micro-site clearly mentions the “Oppo Reno 7 series” not just a single smartphone. The company, via the teasers, also confirms that the Indian variant will have a powerful 32 MP Sony IMX709 selfie sensor. Furthermore, it confirmed to offer a 50 MP IMX766 camera sensor at the rear. This is the same sensor that we have seen on several devices including the OnePlus Nord 2 5G.
Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G specifications
Since the teasers mention the Pro variant, let’s recall some of its specifications. The Reno 7 Pro packs a fairly large 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ Resolution. Moreover, it has a 90 Hz refresh rate and 920 nits peak brightness. The panel houses the front shooter inside a punch-hole cutout and also includes Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Under the hood, the Oppo Reno 7 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max processor. It’s a buffed version of the vanilla Dimensity 1200. It comes with a Mali G77 GPU, has up to 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of Internal Storage. In terms of optics, we have the 50 MP shooter at the helm, an 8 MP ultrawide snapper, and a 2 MP macro lens. For selfies and video calls, there is a 32 MP snapper.
Once again, we have the company’s 65 W fast-charging for the 4,500 mAh battery capacity. Other features include Wi-Fi 6, an In-Display fingerprint scanner, and NFC support.
Now it’s just matter of time until Oppo decides to disclose the exact launch date of these devices.
