Samsung Galaxy A22e gets Bluetooth certification, launch is imminent

The Galaxy A22 5G was one of Samsung’s cheapest 5G smartphones released in 2021. That place was occupied by the Galaxy A13 5G who brought marginally the same set of specifications. Now, in a sudden twist of fates, the company seems to be gearing up to revisit the Galaxy A22 series. Samsung is gearing up to launch the Samsung Galaxy A22e 5G a new variant. This particular device was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification database with the model number SC-56B.

The listing, unfortunately, didn’t reveal anything about the smartphone except the moniker and the model number. However, the handset bears the model number SC-56B. It was launched as Samsung Galaxy A22 in Japan back in October 2022. This leads us to believe that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A22e 5G. It could be a rebranded version of the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, but the Japanese version is slightly different.

The Samsung Galaxy A22e 5G is already available in Japan, therefore we know most of its specifications. The handset flaunts a 5.8-inch TFT LCD display with an HD+ resolution. This diagonal size is quite small for current standards. The handset comes in three colorways – Red, White, and Black.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A22e 5G packs the Octa-Core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor which boasts 5G capabilities. This chipset is quite efficient thanks to its 7 nm fabrication process. It brings two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz, and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. The handset comes in 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Storage. There is also a dedicated micro SD card slot that expands the storage even further. The device runs Android 11 with One UI 3.0 running at the top.

In terms of camera, the device is quite simple with just a single 13 MP camera and an LED flash. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8 MP shooter that sits inside of the waterdrop notch. The handset charges with just 10W charging and has a 4,000 mAh battery. Some of its features include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, 5G, NFC, and full GPS. The handset also bears an IP68 rating which makes it water resistant. Unfortunately, it lacks a fingerprint scanner, so users will rely on the face unlock feature.

The standard variant is available in India and Europe. The A22e variant is downgraded in almost every aspect. We are c8urious to see what will be the company’s strategy with this launch.
