Oppo is running to prepare everything for the debut of its next flagship series. The new smartphones will come under the company’s usual premium-oriented Find series. This time around, we’ll see the new flagships coming with the Oppo Find X5 moniker. Oppo, like a good Chinese brand, is skipping the number 4. The new lineup is expected to bring three to four smartphones. Namely, we expect an Oppo Find X5, Find X5 Pro, Find X5 Lite, and Find X5 Pro+. However, not all these variants are confirmed right now.
The devices’ launch is drawing near, and therefore, leaks will become more common. Today, a new set of leaked images reveal the Oppo Find X5 Pro back with a gorgeous mirror effect. We can also have a look at the new camera island design.
Oppo Find X5 Pro with MariSilicon NPU
The images show the asymmetric Oppo Find X5 series camera island with the very same “coming out” effect that arrived with last year’s flagships. We can see three sensors aided by an LED flash. Moreover, there is a big label stating that this module is powered by MariSilicon. To those unaware, Oppo presented the MariSilicon last month as its very first custom chip (Neural Processing Unit – NPU) coming to improve the quality of photography. This chip will enhance the quality of the images captured with the flagships without relying on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 image processing.
Gizchina News of the week
At the launch of the MariSilicon X, we saw teasers pointing to its debut within the Oppo Find X5 series. Now, we have a confirmation. The image also shows a gorgeous mirror effect with the handset that makes the device look like it is covered with a coating of liquid metal. It also reacts to the light and you can see the usual color-changing effect in the second image below.
To complete the setup, the device also has a Hasselblad lens just like the OnePlus 9 and 10 series.
Besides the design and the MariSilicon X NPU, these images don’t reveal anything else about the handset. Anyway, we already know what the Oppo Find X5 Pro is bringing to the table. The lineup’s top offering comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will have up to 12 GB of RAM + 3 GB virtual RAM, 256 GB of UFS storage, and ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12.
The Oppo Find X5 may bring similar specs but it will count with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC at the helm. Both handsets will flaunt AMOLED displays with up to a 120 Hz refresh rate. The Oppo Find X5 Lite may come as a rebranded Oppo Reno7, but this still needs confirmation.
