In May 2019, Google rolled out an inexpensive premium solution – Pixel 3a. It was aiming then fans of a “clean” system and a good camera from Google, but at the same time not ready to pay a lot for such a device. This model and its successors have come out as controversial and strange but curious gadgets, where the Pixel 4a came close to the Nexus devices, which had a decent army of fans.
This year, the company will release the Google Pixel 6a, which is supposed to be relatively compact, light, comfortable and ready to take great photos, especially at night. And what it really will be, we will reliably find out in May of this year. It is this month that the @MaxJMB insider names as the likely release time for the Google Pixel 6a. It is possible that it will be presented during the Google I / O developer conference, which traditionally takes place annually in May.
What will be the Google Pixel 6a, there is no information. We can speculate that it will receive an OLED screen with an increased refresh rate, a Qualcomm chip or a proprietary Tensor processor, up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage memory, fast charging with a power of at least 18 W and will offer a set of sensors like the Pixel 6.

Pixel 6a specifications
According to the 9to5Google portal, its specialists dismantled the Google Camera application of a new smartphone, codenamed Bluejay; as a result of which additional information was found in the APK. According to the portal; the Google Pixel 6a will receive the same chipset as the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro; the flagship Tensor single-chip system developed by Google itself.
Although the 9to5Google portal is a fairly reputable online publication, the news still remains at the level of rumors. In particular, it raises some doubts that Google will for the first time use the same mobile platform in the A-series; as in the flagship smartphones of the new generation.
At the same time, other known specifications of the Pixel 6a are noticeably weaker than those of the Pixel 6. So, the new product will not receive a 50-megapixel camera module. The 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 will be the main one; the 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 will be used in the ultra-wide-angle module, and the 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 will take selfies.
Basically, the smartphone’s camera system is similar to that used in the Pixel 5; and the selfie module is identical to that used in the “basic” version of the Pixel 6.
