Realme is getting ready for the release of its Realme 9 series smartphones. These devices have been expected since the last year, after all, Realme has been known for launching two number series generations every year. However, we assume that the company had its portion of issues amidst the crisis in the components market. Anyway, this is story now as the company officially started the Realme 9 series with the release of the Realme 9i. The company also confirmed the launch of the Realme 9 Pro series very soon. This will bring the Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 Pro+ with 5G connectivity. There is also a Realme 9 in works, if you question me. The device may come at a later date, and according to the latest shreds of evidence, it may be a disappointment to those expecting big changes.
Realme 9 5G seems to be identical to the Realme 8 5G
The Realme 9 is yet to receive an official launch timeline. Meanwhile, the device has been spotted on the FCC webiste, which reveals the design. According to the spotted images, the device may be a rebranded Realme 8 5G. That’s right, Realme could be, in the worst-case scenario just changing the name of the last year’s smartphone to sell it again. Otherwise, we’re seeing the very same design but with slightly different specifications. This is the best possibility, but still disappointing for those expecting an all-new smartphone.
Gizchina News of the week
Apparently, the Realme 9 5G is coming to be priced below the Realme 9i. That’s right, the possible 5G vanilla smartphone will be cheaper than the 9i which brings one of Qualcomm’s latest 4G SoC. If that is true, then the choice for last year’s specs make sense. According to the listing, it will come with 18 W fast-charging. That’s below the Realme 9i, and also the Realme 9 Pro models which are coming with 33 W fast-charging this year.
According to FCC, besides the model number, the device is electronicalyl identical to the original equipement the Realme 8 5G. The original test results continue to be represantive of and applicable to it. The device has a rectangular camera module on teh back with a triple-camera setup. It could be a 48 MP or a 64 MP snapper. The other sensors are probably cheap macro and depth sensors.
At the front, we have the usual top-left punch hole cutout for the selfie camera. Taking the Realme 8 in consdieradiong, the device may come with a 6.5-inch 90 Hz LCD display. The Realme 8 5G packs the Dimensity 700 5G, which is seems to still be the favorite choice of brands for the low-end 5G segment.
